About

GlobalDev Blog is a new platform for accessible, policy-relevant research on development, supported by the Global Development Network, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other partners.

Born out the belief that intelligent development policy requires excellent research, GlobalDev offers a democratic space in which the academic community can engage with the public and key policy stakeholders, to connect research, policy, and sustainable development. With this vision, GlobalDev aims to highlight the ways in which high-quality research sheds light on urgent development issues, to catalyze change.

The blog publishes high-quality, evidence-backed pieces covering urgent development issues, written by authors from diverse backgrounds and with experience across academic disciplines and in development practice. GlobalDev is a fundamentally inclusive space with a global reach. It showcases the work of researchers from the North and South, and considers all contributions that meet its editorial standards: rigorous research that offers meaningful insights on development.
