ABOUT THE CONTEST
The GDN Climate Opinion Essay Contest 2024 aims to urge and motivate undergraduate and graduate students from low- and middle-income countries to think about climate change. Contest participants are invited to submit essays exploring or sharing the impacts, challenges, and potential local solutions related to climate change within their communities or the broader global context. This contest seeks to foster a deeper understanding of climate resilience and inspire others to address this global challenge with our 2024 theme - Climate Resilience in My Community.
HOW TO SUBMIT?
Read the guidelines and submit your entry. The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2024, by 23:59 CET.
WHY SUBMIT?
Top 3 Finalists in each category: Certificate of achievement for their contributions.
1st place in each category: A fully funded trip to attend the Global Development Conference 2024 (GDC 2024) in Suva, Fiji, with opportunities to network with global leaders in climate research and policy and access to capacity-building workshops.
Please note: The trip only applies to participants based in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands Region at the time of GDC.
Publication: Winning essays will be featured in official communication channels.
Awards Ceremony: To be held during GDC 2024 in Suva, Fiji.
