Name of the Asset | The effectiveness of support to lobby and advocacy: synthesis of evidence from Dutch MFA programme support
Type of Asset | Working Paper 90
Date | April 2023
SUMMARY
Traditionally, much funding was directed towards poverty reduction programmes. But a shift has been taking place to programmes aimed at tackling root causes, for example through lobby and advocacy. These programmes pose a challenge to evaluators as it requires different methods to evaluate their effectiveness. In order to gain insight into what works and what doesn’t, IOB requested the Global Development Network to analyse the methods used in 32 evaluations.
