Dr. Kadijatou Marou Sama is Fellow, Knowledge Systems at the Global Development Network (GDN). She runs the expansion of GDN’s Doing Research global initiative in Francophone Africa. She is currently based in France. Her PhD in Sociology defended at Université Paris-Est is related to research and higher education in Niger where she did the field work. She has many years of professional experience in research in Africa, including research systems, research policies, research funding, scientific partnerships, scientific output. She has experience working as researcher/consultant in international organizations that support research for development, such as the French Development Agency (AFD), UNESCO and the French Research Institute for Development (IRD). She holds an engineering degree in Rural Economy and a Master degree in Economy of sustainable development.
