About Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

GDN’s Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis programme is run in partnership with Campbell South Asia (CSA). Through this programme, we are developing a wide range of maps and reviews focused on evidence synthesis and evaluation in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), which address critical global development challenges. 

 

SOME KEY OUTPUTS INCLUDE

1. Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health

  1. A scoping map and three systematic reviews on economic evaluations (e.g., benefit-cost, cost-effectiveness) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

2. Ecosystem-Based Disaster Risk Reduction

  1. A rapid review on the cost-effectiveness of ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction measures, supported by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

3. Youth Offending

  1. A review for the Youth Endowment Fund focusing on youth offending.

4. Disability and Inclusion

  1. A map and four reviews addressing issues related to disability and inclusion for People with Disabilities.

5. Evidence Gap Maps (EGMs)

  1. Conflict and atrocity prevention (FCDO).

  2. Violence against children (UNICEF).

  3. Access to justice and transport (FCDO).

6. Gender in Agriculture

  1. A map and five reviews on gender-related aspects in agriculture, developed for the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

7. Economic Interventions in Humanitarian Settings

  1. A review focused on economic interventions in humanitarian contexts.

8. Advocacy Programme Evaluation Methods

  1. An evaluation of methods used in advocacy programmes, with a focus on "small n" evaluation methods for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

OUR TEAM

Our team comprises sector-leading specialists in evidence synthesis for international development research. The team leadership brings extensive experience working closely with FCDO, WHO, UNICEF Office of Research Innocenti, Mastercard Foundation, Youth Endowment Fund, Youth Futures Foundation, World Bank, and the Centre for Homelessness Impact. The team includes professionals with practitioner backgrounds in government and civil society, contributing expertise in development planning, health systems and disaster response. Meet our team.
