Under the Applied Development Finance program, in 2017 and 2018, GDN and the European Investment Bank (EIB) selected 10 fellows to study the impact of EIB projects in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, under a new training and mentorship program for local researchers. After training at EIB headquarters in Luxembourg, each batch of fellows worked for one year under the guidance of top international experts to evaluate projects financed under the Bank’s Impact Financing Envelope. This helped build skills and capacity in impact assessment in the regions and refine the understanding of EIB’s impact.
